Aram Balagyozyan, D. Phil., is an associate professor of Economics at Kania School of Management, the University of Scranton. He received a Ph.D. in Financial Economics from The City University of New York and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Yerevan State University, Armenia. Prior to joining the University of Scranton in 2011, Dr. Balagyozyan spent a year as a visiting assistant professor at Trinity College (Hartford, CT) and two years as an assistant professor of economics at the College of Staten Island (the City University of New York). Between 2006 and 2008, he worked as a research associate at New York State Banking Department. Since 2004, he also has been a regular visiting faculty member at the international M.B.A. Program at Zicklin School of Business, CUNY. Dr. Balagyozyan’s research interests are in the areas of decision making under uncertainty, state-space econometrics, and econometric modeling of extreme events. His current research focuses on the theoretical and empirical implications of ambiguous information and fuzzy decision making in finance and economics. Professor Balagyozyan has published several academic papers and presented his research at numerous academic conferences and seminars.
